Tumorigenic: Yes
Comments: EHS (Englebreth-Holm-Swarm) is a sarcoma carried as a transplantable tumor in C57BL mice.
It produces all the basement membrane components (laminin, collagen IV, entactin, and heparan sulfate proteoglycan).
The EHS sarcoma is a source of Matrigel, an extract that stimulates cell differentiation.
Matrigel is rich in laminin, growth factors, entactin/nidogen, type IV collagen, and heparan sulfate proteoglycan.
The EHS sarcoma is a rich source of both individual basement membrane components and Matrigel.
The ATCC stocks were established from tumors grown in C57BL/6J mice.
Propagation: EHS細胞ATCC complete growth medium: Duration: These cell are propagated in C57BL/6 mice.
Subculturing: Protocol: Harvest tumor from one mouse, mince and inject intramuscularly (over the hindlimb) into 3 to 10 C57BL/6 mice. Examine the mice daily for tumor progression, and harvest tumors (usually about 14 to 21 days after inoculation).
Preservation: Freeze medium: Ham's F12K medium, 80%; fetal bovine serum; DMSO, 10%
Storage temperature: liquid nitrogen vapor phase
